The master bathroom shower.

-
The master bathroom is
tiled in three shades of matte glass
tile, with a Corian counter and sink.

Inset bed storage for
books.

-
The master bedroom bed
is made of bamboo, with inset storage
next to the mattress. Four toplit sliding
sheer panels surround the bed.

-
To expand the view of
the Manhattan skyline, the deep window
openings were framed with mirrors. Bamboo
shelves in the office hold audio equipment,
lacquered cabinets below hold files.

-
When the doors shut,
the master bedroom and office can be
separated from the living room.

-
When the bamboo sliding
doors are open, the apartment opens up
and all the spaces are connected visually.

-
The floors are bleached
oak. Cabinets are white lacquer and bamboo.

-
Attention was paid to
choosing furnishings that compliment
the calm, modern interior. Custom sheer
drapes allow the skline to always be
visible, while blocking views in and
diffusing sunlight.

The kitchen bar is a
place for guests to hang out. The kitchen
is used for cocktails more than cooking.

-
The small kitchen is
tiled in stainless steel tiles, with
travertine slab counters, white lacquer
cabinets, and a dropped bamboo ceiling.

-

towards the powder room.

-
The bamboo box leads
to the kitchen. The entry hall floor
is travertine, as are the kitchen counters.

-
Over the entry is a shallow
bamboo box that holds inset linear incandescent
fixtures. The central bamboo core holds
a coat closet, deep storage, office supplies,
and two sets of sliding doors depending
on which room it is facing.

-
Cabinets divide the entry
hall from the living area and act as
a visual screen. When the bamboo doors
are shut, the living room and the office/
guest room are separated.
